Do the absorbtion of iron and vitamin E interfere with each other in the human body?
About 10 years ago, I read a booklet published by Superdrug (a very well known health and beauty shop in the UK) that at least six hours should be left between taking an iron supplement and taking a vitamin E supplement as one prevents the absorbtion of the other in the human body-
Is this true?
Lately, I’ve searched more recently published books on nutrition and I’ve yet to see this fact mentioned in any of them.
Is there anyone out there who can enlighten me- or at least point me in the right direction to read up a bit more on this?
I’d really love to hear from any medical people who read this question-
Thanks
I’ve studied tons of nutrition and from all my work, I’ve never heard of this. Even the WikiPedia has no mention of this, so I’m sure it was a miscalculation on the authors of the original text you read.
